Dans le contexte d\u2019un retour \u00e0 la normale, de nombreuses entreprises conservent la formule du travail \u00e0 domicile, et plusieurs instaurent un mod\u00e8le hybride bureau-t\u00e9l\u00e9travail.<\/p><p>Cependant, l\u2019imposition de journ\u00e9es de travail au bureau peut se traduire par des trajets quotidiens g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs de stress pour certains, en plus de d\u00e9favoriser ou exclure trois grands groupes de travailleurs\u00a0: les premiers responsables de famille (g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des femmes), les personnes atteintes d\u2019incapacit\u00e9 physique ou mentale, ainsi que les personnes confront\u00e9es \u00e0 des contraintes g\u00e9ographiques ou de logement. Le maintien de postes \u00e0 distance et hybrides peut donc appuyer les initiatives de diversit\u00e9, d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 et d\u2019inclusion (DEI) en favorisant la cr\u00e9ation de lieux de travail plus inclusifs et plus accessibles.<\/p><p>Les travailleurs canadiens ont accueilli favorablement le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail, non seulement pour les avantages qu\u2019il leur procure, mais aussi pour l\u2019inclusivit\u00e9 accrue qu\u2019il permet d\u2019instaurer au sein des organisations aux quatre coins du pays.<\/p><p>Voici les trois principaux avantages du t\u00e9l\u00e9travail sur le plan de la DEI :<\/p><p><strong>Une r\u00e9duction de la discrimination et des pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s<\/strong><br \/>L\u2019un des plus importants avantages du t\u00e9l\u00e9travail consiste dans la r\u00e9duction des pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s inconscients associ\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019embauche et au travail. L\u2019absence de proximit\u00e9 physique a pour effet d\u2019att\u00e9nuer les possibles pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s fond\u00e9s sur les caract\u00e9ristiques psychologiques, physiques ou sociales des personnes, notamment les capacit\u00e9s cognitives, les convictions, les aptitudes sociales, l\u2019\u00e2ge, le genre, la race, la religion et l\u2019orientation sexuelle. Le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail met l\u2019accent non plus sur la pr\u00e9sence physique de l\u2019employ\u00e9 sur le lieu de travail, mais sur sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 produire des r\u00e9sultats tangibles. Il encourage en outre les organisations \u00e0 instaurer des milieux de travail diversifi\u00e9s et inclusifs, o\u00f9 le personnel est valoris\u00e9 pour ses comp\u00e9tences plut\u00f4t qu\u2019en fonction de crit\u00e8res subjectifs et arbitraires.<\/p><p><strong>Un \u00e9largissement du bassin d\u2019emploi<\/strong><br \/>Le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail et le travail en mode hybride permettent \u00e9galement aux employeurs d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 des candidats qui auraient ant\u00e9rieurement pu \u00eatre g\u00ean\u00e9s par des limitations physiques, psychologiques ou g\u00e9ographiques. Cette approche inclusive ouvre les portes aux personnes atteintes d\u2019incapacit\u00e9, aux principaux dispensateurs de soins et aux personnes confront\u00e9es \u00e0 d\u2019autres obstacles, pour qui il aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile de faire des allers-retours quotidiens entre la maison et le lieu de travail. Le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail permet en outre aux employeurs de puiser dans un plus large bassin de talents du fait que les candidats ne sont plus assujettis \u00e0 des limitations g\u00e9ographiques. Et le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail offre au personnel une souplesse et une autonomie accrues en mati\u00e8re d\u2019organisation du travail, ce qui leur permet d\u2019atteindre un meilleur \u00e9quilibre entre leurs responsabilit\u00e9s personnelles et leurs obligations professionnelles.<\/p><p><strong>Des adaptations pour le personnel handicap\u00e9<\/strong><br \/>On constate que le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail procure une plus grande accessibilit\u00e9 aux personnes atteintes d\u2019une incapacit\u00e9. Ainsi, le travail \u00e0 domicile permet \u00e0 celles-ci d\u2019adapter au mieux leur environnement de travail \u00e0 leurs besoins particuliers, qui peuvent largement varier selon la nature du handicap, visible ou invisible. Par exemple, certaines personnes peuvent avoir besoin d\u2019\u00e9quipements sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s ou de technologies d\u2019assistance pour ex\u00e9cuter leurs t\u00e2ches, alors que d\u2019autres rechercheront davantage un lieu paisible ou moins d\u2019interactions sociales. Par la souplesse et le confort qui y sont associ\u00e9s, le t\u00e9l\u00e9travail permet d\u2019am\u00e9nager des espaces de travail adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 des besoins pr\u00e9cis, ce qu\u2019il est souvent difficile de faire dans un milieu de travail traditionnel. Le travail \u00e0 distance permet \u00e9galement aux personnes atteintes d\u2019une incapacit\u00e9 de contr\u00f4ler davantage leur environnement professionnel, d\u2019\u00e9viter les expositions aux virus et aux bact\u00e9ries et de mieux g\u00e9rer leur sant\u00e9.
